  • The Chaplain Tithes and Offering Fund is accepting bids through Aug. 13 for the following Non-Appropriated Fund contractor positions. Catholic congregation: Catholic coordinator, Catholic service pianist, Catholic deacon, Catholic youth coordinator. Gospel Worship congregation: Gospel parish coordinator, Gospel drummer and Gospel multi-media specialist. Protestant congregation: 8:30 a.m. traditional worship service pianist, 8:30 a.m. traditional worship service pipe organist, 8:30 a.m. traditional worship service multi-media/slide tech specialist, 11 a.m. contemporary worship service worship coordinator, Frontier Chapel multi-media specialist and Pioneer Chapel parish coordinator. Community service positions: children’s watchcare coordinator and watchcare workers (requires an installation background check clearance and Child Care National Agency Check and Inquiries clearance). To apply, stop by the Fort Leavenworth Chaplain’s Funds Manager’s Office at Frontier Chapel or call 684-2356 to arrange a pick-up time for a bidding form. All bidders must submit their bidding forms in a sealed envelope. Any open envelope will not be reviewed or considered.
    Soldier For Life - Transition Assistance Program workshops are mandatory for all military personnel transitioning from active-duty service. The workshops are also available to spouses of transitioning military on a space-available basis. TAP workshops are five days from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. P.R.E.P. — Planning, Resumes, Experience and Personal Growth — is Sept. 19. L.E.A.D. — Leadership, Effective Communication, Assessment and Development — is Dec. 5.     The Soldier for Life - Transition Assistance Program offers a monthly Federal Application Seminar on submitting applications using the USAJobs website. The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center will provide instruction. The seminar covers navigating the USAJobs portal and preparing a resumé to apply for government employment. Classes are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 23 and Oct. 2, Oct. 25 and Nov. 15 in room 131 of the Resiliency Center.
