  • The Vietnam Lecture “My Lai: A 50-Year Perspective,” with speaker Dr. Bill Allison, is today at the Stove Factory meeting space, 417 S. 2nd Street, in Leavenworth. The reception is at 5:30 p.m. with the lecture at 6 p.m.
    The Friends of the Frontier Army Museum Night at the Frontier Army Museum event is from 6-9 p.m. March 2 at the museum. The event includes live presentations.     Fort Leavenworth Marines and local veterans service organizations will recognize the 73rd anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima with a cermony and short parade starting at 1:30 p.m. March 9 in the vicinity of the Marine Corps Monument in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

    The Fort Leavenworth Spouses Club Scholarship golf Scramble is March 30 at Trails West Golf Course. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. The event is $65 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, buffet meal, swag bag and prizes.     The Command and General Staff College Spring Sustainment Formal is at 5:30 p.m. April 13 at the Embassy Suites, Kansas City Airport. Tickets are $35 per person. Child care is available for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old at the Chid Development Center. Pre-register children by April 6 by calling 684-5138.     The Friends of the Frontier Army Museum Tour of Historic Homes is from 1-6 p.m. April 29. The cost for the tour is $20. Tickets are available at the Frontier Army Museum and online at www.ffam.us. All ticket sales are final.
