Be sure to put all toys, garden hoses, patio furniture and any other belongings away before the scheduled mowing day. FLFHC will not be responsible for damages or failure to mow areas where items are left out. Residents are responsible for mowing, trimming and edging within their fenced areas.
Lawn clippings and leaves can be bagged and left on the curb for pick up on scheduled maintenance days. Barren will also be scheduling shrub and bush trimming.
Remember this schedule is subject to change as needed; in case of inclement weather, mowing will be completed the following day.
    Refer a friend
For each eligible resident referred who is new to the area and signs a six-month lease, both the referrer and the referred will receive $250.
New residents must take occupancy within 45 days of application. The referral source must be listed on the application and be a current resident to qualify; other restrictions may apply.
    Retirees, civilians
Fort Leavenworth Frontier Heritage Communities is offering leasing opportunities to military retirees and Department of Defense civilians.
Beautiful and historic Fort Leavenworth has much to offer families, including a safe and secure environment in which to live, work and play; excellent schools; and convenient proximity to Kansas City, the surrounding metropolitan area and the many attractions the Midwest has to offer.
Contact FLFHC for more information and availability. Select neighborhoods and a variety of homes and styles are available and restrictions may apply.

    Super Savers

Families can nominate themselves each month for this award but can only win once per calendar year.
    Yard of the Month
The Yard of the Month program recognizes residents who spruce up and decorate their yard and porch. The third week of each month, Fort Leavenworth Frontier Heritage Communities representatives patrol villages on post to select three yards to be “Yard of the Month.”
In October, the judges will be looking for yards with great Halloween decorations. Winners are chosen based on the use of color, ornaments and plants in their front yard and front porch.
Winners receive a $25 Visa gift card and a Yard of the Month certificate, as well as recognition in the FLFHC newsletter.
    Utilities tip
Open curtains on south-facing windows during the day to allow sunlight to naturally heat the home, and close them at night to reduce the chill from cold windows.
