  • The Directorate of Public Works has received two National Public Lands Day grants to beautify the Old Disciplinary Barracks by cleaning and planting flowers in existing flower beds and to establish pollinator-friendly shrubs and reptile-monitoring transects. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Old Disciplinary Barracks on McClellan Avenue. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and garden trowels or loppers. Volunteers planning to attend should contact Neil Bass by noon Oct. 13 by calling 684-8979 or e-mailing michael.n.bass.civ@mail.mil.
