When patients “no show” to scheduled appointments, there is a cost to both the patient and the facility. Each “no show” appointment represents a lost opportunity to provide healthcare services to other patients, and affects Munson Army Health Center’s ability to reach Access to Care standards. MAHC will accommodate patients who arrive late to appointments without causing undue delay to other patients reporting on time. MAHC enforces this policy to optimize patient centered medical care. A patient arriving more than 10 minutes late after the scheduled appointment will, in consultation with the clinic staff, either wait to be worked into the schedule later that day or reschedule the appointment for another day. If the patient has to be rescheduled for another day, the original missed appointment will be documented as a “no show.”
