  • Leavenworth High School Junior ROTC
    The Leavenworth High School Junior ROTC Drill Teams now have three victories in a row March 4-5 by winning the Blue Springs (Mo.) South Drill Meet, where they competed against 20 other schools.
    The Cavalry Angels placed first in Inspection, first in Unarmed Regulation, second in Unarmed Exhibition and fifth in Regulation Color Guard.
    The Pioneer Guard placed 10th in Armed Regulation, second in Armed Exhibition and seventh in Exhibition Color Guard.
    The teams combined for third in Overall Regulation and second in Overall Exhibition, giving them the overall championship.
    Individual Drill Down winners were Cadets Erica Janasz, Marie Shibasaki and Samantha Murphy in first, fourth and ninth place respectively.
    The teams missed a clean sweep of the season by 247 points out of 11,690, placing second overall in their first meet.
    The drill teams are now preparing for the All-Service National Meet in Daytona, Fla., May 6 and 7.
