The FORT LEAVENWORTH TAX CENTER offers free federal and state income tax filing with IRS-trained preparers. Appointments can be made through April 28 by calling 684-4986 or stopping by the Tax Center at 615 McClellan Ave. Soldiers E-5 and below can drop off tax documents at the Tax Center and return later to review and sign their e-file forms. Tax Center hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 1-4 p.m. Thursdays. One-hour Saturday appointments are available Feb. 25 and March 11 and 25. Services are limited based on complexity and legal limitations.
The Fort Leavenworth Spouses’ Club Annual Community Assistance Grant program is accepting applications through March 1. Grants are awarded to Fort Leavenworth and surrounding community organizations for special projects. Last year, FLSC gave $12,330 to 28 organizations on and off post. The Fort Leavenworth Thrift and Consignment Store will be open until 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21. Regular store hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Consignments are accepted until 12:30 p.m.
The Defense Military Pay Office will be closed March 1 for training and team building. The DMPO will re-open for normal business hours March 2.
The Dining Facility drive through is open 4:30-9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 4-6 p.m. Weekday dine-in hours are 6:30-8 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 5-6:30 p.m. Weekend dine-in hours are 8-9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 5-6:30 p.m. Grab-and-go hours are 8-9 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. Grab-and-go is closed for dinner weekends and holidays.

Fort Leavenworth Thrift Shop Welfare applications are available from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Thrift Shop cashier’s counter. Application deadline is Feb. 28. No late applications will be accepted.
